Ghoulardi was Cleveland's first horror movie host, taking to the airwaves on January 13, 1963 when Shock Theater debuted on WJW, Channel 8. The show lasted until December 16, 1966 when the man who portrayed Ghoulardi, Ernie Anderson, left for Los Angeles where he would eventually become the voice of the ABC television network.
